Change in domain

    I am planning to buy a new domain from Godaddy, and I want to attach this existing site to my new domain. Can you tell me if it is possible?

    Hi there!

    In order to have your domain be your primary domain you need a paid plan. Otherwise your domain will redirect to your free *.wordpress.com URL.

    However, if you haven’t registered the domain yet, you can register the domain here at WordPress.com. If you purchase a yearly plan, you can register the domain for free for the first year (subsequent renewals would be at full price).

    It looks like you have a yearly Premium plan in your cart – once you pay for that upgrade, go to Upgrades -> Domains and register your domain. Or, if you already registered the domain at GoDaddy, choose “use a domain I already own” and enter the domain there and follow the instructions.
