Change in domain name or username

  When you change your WordPress domain name or username, the details on your past comments are not updated.

  I found this to be a major hindrance because when I’d changed my pen-name to my real name, the responses to all the comments on my page were still under the original username- and there were more than a thousand comments, so I couldn’t manually change each one.

  Right now, it’s so confusing to see that some responses have been giving under one name, while others are completely different.

  It would be really helpful if WordPress could introduce a feature where the user info in both the comments on your site and other sites are updated automatically.

  Also, change of domain name doesn’t reflect in the reblogs and links to your site.

  Could WordPress send an automated mail to all the authors of the reblogs or links informing them that there’s been a change in the domain they’ve linked to?

  And maybe an automation to all the followers as a whole informing them of the change so they don’t miss anything?
