change in making a post

The format for writing a post changed and it’s really not easy to use. How can I go back to the old way? Now there’s tabs for text and visual, I have to resize every photo I take, and it often cuts off the text I write after the last photo, so I have to be sure to save a draft in word and then go back and edit the text back in. What happened to the old way? I’ve tried updating my OS and switching to Google Chrome from Safari and neither has helped.

Are you copying an pasting text from a word processing program like Microsoft WORD? If so the enable this setting > Dashboard > Settings > Writing

The paste from WORD button will not be restored. The paste as plain text button eliminates all code. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-textBlog editors and word processors are not the same and do not work the same way. The web standard is one blank line only, so you cannot add more blank lines by pressing return repeatedly like you would do with a typewriter or in a word processing application. When you create a new post, always make sure the Format tool is set to Paragraph before you start typing. It’s in the Visual editor Row 2 first position “style”. See the illustration here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2 If you forget to do that then edit the post, highlight all in the Visual editor, select Paragraph from the Format tool, switch editor to Text then switch back to Visual and click Update.

I thank you for your answers, but they’re pretty technical. It used to be when I started a new post there were 4 buttons- text, photo, quote, link. I could easily add photos, never have to resize them, and I never had to toggle between a text and visual tab. What happened to that? Is there any way to get it back? I want to cry every time I post because I’m so frustrated at how difficult is is now. If there’s no way to get it back, is there another blog site that is simple like this?
