Change Link Font Color in Chunk Theme
-
im completely new to wordpress, i am using a chunk theme but would like to turn all the default green fonts into red…how would i do that?

If you have the Custom Design upgrade, the following will change ALL links. You can edit the color code, it is just a reddish color I tossed in as a placeholder.
a { color: #CC0000 !important; } -
thanks so much for responding. im going to upgrade it soon, but just havent yet…trying to use preview to see. is there way to not change ALL the links but just the ones in green? also, i want the links to turn grey when you hover over them, not green. is that possible the separate these colors?
thank you for your help!

let me clarify, im really sorry…the “leave a comment” link is all in green…i want to change all green links to grey, the same default grey as the theme, and when you hover over the links, for them to turn red. does that make sense? hope im not too confusing!

You would have to search the existing CSS for #36BCAB and then for every instance of that put the selector into the CSS edit window and change the color. A quick peek says its in 9 locations. You then have to create a rule for each of those 9 instances where you set the hover color to red. Example:
.entry-title a { color: #555555; .entry-title a:hover { color: #CC0000; }It is always a good idea to have links differentiated in some way so that people know they are links they can click on. If the non-hover color is the same as everything else, then no one will know they are links unless they just start swinging their mouse around with waiting for it to change to the hand cursor.

yikes! i might have to upgrade first and just play around with it! looking at my page…do you have any suggestions for someone trying to display photography work? its a hobby of mine and would love a way to showcase some of the photos ive taken but im not a web design person, so im not sure how i could fully use wordpress to my advantage!
i know im asking a lot, but id appreciate any feedback!

I love the Duotone theme for photography, but it’s a specialized theme designed to showcase one image per post and pull colors from it. It’s great for a photo blog actually.
I think Chunk looks great with your images. Nishita actually looks pretty amazing for showcasing photography. There are lots of other good ones too.
If you like browsing around to see what spectacular things people on WordPress.com have setup (I love doing this!) then check out the photography tag at http://en.wordpress.com/tag/photography/ You might find some really great theme ideas and take in some cool photography at the same time.
