Change look of Header Text

  My Header Text right now reads: Ursula Maria Mandel, Novelist and Storyteller. I would like to change it as follows: (first line) Ursula Maria Mandel. Then, beneath this, in a smaller font: Novelist and Storyteller. How can I do this? I went into the Header Text box, but it wouldn’t let me switch to a second line. Thanks.

  Hi Ursula!

  The text you’re referring to are your Site Title and Tagline. These are controlled in your General Settings:

  https://wordpress.com/settings/general/umandel.wordpress.com

  However, in the Twenty Ten theme you’re using, the Tagline is not displayed in a smaller font beneath the Site Title, it’s displayed to the right:

  

  In order to have the Tagline appear beneath the Site Title, you’ll need to switch to a theme that displays this information that way. One example that comes to mind is Twenty Twelve:

  Hello, Alex. Actually, having the tagline that begins with “In the middle of winter . . .” is just where I want it, that is, to the right. It’s perfect there, I think. But I want to put the designations “Novelist and Storyteller” beneath my name, rather than having them followed after a comma. I guess I can’t do that, right? Because it would mean it would be considered a second tagline? Is there no way I can split the Site Title itself to enable two lines?

  HI Ursula,

  Sadly, there’s no way to separate out the Site Title into two separate lines unless that’s what the Theme tells it to do.

  I don’t immediately know any themes that will allow the setup where you can keep the “In the middle of winter…” as it is, and also have the two lines for Site Title and Tagline.

  I wish I had a work around for you. :(

  Thanks, Alex. I guess the WordPress Wizards could work on the software a little to enable splitting the Title into two lines or enabling two tagline at separate places. That would be wonderful. But till then, thank you for helping me. Ursula

  P.S. I think I’ll solve the issue by putting “Novelist and Storyteller” first thing on the Front Page/Home Page. It should be immediately visible there. U.
