    pormicultura.com is hosted by cloudflare
    Name Servers:
    dave.ns.cloudflare.com
    grace.ns.cloudflare.com

That site is not on our WordPress.COM servers. You are posting to the wrong support forum to get support for it. Also be aware of who the web host is for your site and contact them directly for any hosting issues.

This is wordpress.COM support. We do not provide support for local installs of wordpress.ORG software, or for wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    wordpress.org support
The wordpress.ORG support forum is at
http://wordpress.org/support. The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
See also https://apps.wordpress.org/support/ for app support.

    Jetpack support
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.com/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
    http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
However, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

    Hi cmkewelta,

I need to change my mapped domain from blog.kewelta.com to pormicultura.com please help.

The domain mapping upgrade for blog.kewelta.com is owned by another user of the site — kewelta. We are unable to make changes to upgrades without permission from the account that owns them so I have contacted kewelta by email.

Once they’ve confirmed they would like to make the change, I’ll be happy to sort that out.

    Thanks!

Hi gemma, that user is myself, what can I make to confirm it? Please I need to change the domain address of my blog but I only found in Internet that I need to write here.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi cmkewelta,

that user is myself, what can I make to confirm it?

I sent an email to the address we have on our system for kewelta so you can reply to that email — please also check the spam, junk and social folders in case it has gone there.

The other option is to log out of your cmkewelta account, then login as kewelta and reply here.

gemma, thanks again for helping us, I’m writing from the account where I created the blog. Please change the mapped domain. I confirm it.

thanks a lot again and thanks for your help.

    Hi kewelta,

Thanks for logging in, I’ve removed domain mapping for blog.kewelta.com. You can now add domain mapping for pormicultura.com from this page:

    https://wordpress.com/domains/add/

Once you’ve done that, please ask your domain registrar to add WordPress.com name servers. We have sample email you can send them here:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#2-ask-your-domain-provider-to-update-your-dns-settings

Please let me know if you need any help.

Gemma I really appreciate your help, thanks a lot.

The thing is that I don’t want to move my dns zone to WordPress, I prefer to use Cloudflare as I normally use with my domains. I want to have the same option that I had with blog.kewelta.com just making an alias to blogkewelta.wordpress.com, is it possible to do?

Another thing is that I think that WordPress should improve the way you let users handle dns that you manage and I think I shouldn’t be asking so many stuff by support that can be easily handled by a simple interface. I really appreciate your help but I don’t like how WordPress is managing stuff in this matter because we loose visits and traffic to our site with these issues.

I needed a week or more to do these simple dns arrangements, every time I’m configuring a simple detail in Wordpres I need to wait days because my isp is really slow with dns, but that problem is already solved in 2017, Cloudflare allows you to try stuff quick, plus WordPress support needed to simple dns management…. It has been a headache for sure and people don’t have time for this.

Gemma for sure you are a great guy and I saw you helping many people but please send this suggestion to WordPress team, people are paying for getting a pain.

The thing is that I don’t want to move my dns zone to WordPress, I prefer to use Cloudflare as I normally use with my domains.

In that case, our recommend approach is to add domain mapping for pormicultura.com and then point A records to our IP addresses:

    192.0.78.24

    192.0.78.25

The DNS can then be managed through Cloudflare if you wish.

but please send this suggestion to WordPress team

I’ll pass on your feedback about DNS handling through WordPress.com.

    Hi Gemma,

Thanks a lot for your patience.

With the configuration that has my blog right now, is it possible to point the A records to your IP?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Gemma,

I already did that and thanks a lot for it, Cloudflare is vital for where I live.

Now I have a more complicated question, I understand that WordPress doesnt like the www subdomain with the domains registered there, but is it possible to enable my www subdomain using Cloudflare?

It seems to be that WordPress has a dns rule to redirect every subdomain to the root domain, which I don’t like, is it possible to avoid this using Cloudflare?

    Big hug,

    Hi kewelta,

I understand that WordPress doesnt like the www subdomain with the domains registered there

I can see you have already chatted with a member of staff about this and opened a new thread which we have replied to:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/i-waisted-hours-and-hours-talking-to-a-support-that-didnt-help-with-simple-dns

The www prefix isn’t used on WordPress.com. If someone adds www to your domain, they will be redirected to the non www version. There isn’t a way we can force your domain to use www, it’s simply not possible.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi Gemma,

I just chatted with two guys from support asking if that was possible, but then the conversation turned into a caos, they even said that www is not a subdomain, and with the other thread is when I realized that there are rules in WordPress related to this stuff of the www but it was never told to me, I really think this should be an option for users.

Another detail is that in the documentation this note about the www should be before the links to the CNAME alias stuff and also should be in the payment in some place plus in the Terms of Use.

    If you see here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
    and here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/

You wouldn’t never figure out that you have to read the www note, just because you click in the links or are looking for something specific to the CNAME alias case. This www thing is only related to WordPress, has nothing to do with Google nor Facebook.

It would be also great that people could have some basic knowledge about dns to talk simple stuff like normal people as you did Gemma, your help has been great, for me and I’m sure that for many people Cloudflare is a must today.

Thanks again and a lot :)

Another thing, the forums should allow people to edit their posts and just say it has been edited showing the history of changes :) big hug
