Change mapped domain

    Hi support,

    I just bought the domain upgrade and mapped http://www.citizenscience.dk

    However, if I link to this I will lose my email. Instead my domain host says to change it to http://www.citizenscience.dk.mx.one.com

    Can you change this for me please?

    Hi there,

    Either your host is giving you completely wrong advice, or you’re misunderstanding what they need you to do.

    http://www.citizenscience.dk.mx.one.com is not the domain you own, and will not show your site. That is the address for your email hosting server, and should likely be added to your domain’s DNS as an MX record for your email to still work once you point the domain’s name servers to us.

    Please contact them again and ask them exactly which DNS records you need to add to your domain for the email to continue working. Also give them a screen shot of the records already added at https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/citizenscience.dk/dns/csportalen.com so they can tell you if anything is missing or incorrect.

    Make it clear to them that you are trying to map your domain to a site hosted on WordPress.com, and that you need to add the DNS records for your email to the domain on our end so the email will continue to work.

    Reply here with that info and I can help you add those records to your domain.

    Once that is done you can then change your domain’s name servers to us at One.com, and then your email should continue working without any interruption.
