change my domain name

  Hi i would like to change my domain name to: socalmustangs.wordpress.com with the ‘s’ added to make it plural. i have already checked on the internet and it says the website has been deleted its been this way (deleted for 1 year already) but i am not able to change my name to it as i get a message saying the name is not available is there anything you can do to help. Thanks

  Hello there,

  It is likely that the name you seek to change has already been taken and deleted.

  Deleted site is permanently removed from the server and it will never be available to re-use its WordPress.com address.

  I did not delete this site, because I never had it. according to what i read this only applies to sites that ive had and deleted with my account.

  As a matter of policy we do not recycle site addresses here on WordPress.com. This is not limited to just your account but others as well. If someone else has deleted their site it does not “free it up” for others to use in this case.

  If you wish you can set a custom address for your site (requires upgrade) and choose from any domain that is not taken already. You can also change your current site address to any “wordpress.com” address you wish, so long as it’s not taken: https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-site-address/

  However, it is not possible to set your site to use socalmustangs.wordpress.com for the reasons given previously.
