Change my email in account settings and update my blogroll on the right side of screen

WordPress won’t let me update my email in my account. Also I can’t remember how to update my blogroll.

Are you referring to https://renachurch.wordpress.com/?
The email address you use can only be assigned to a single wordpress.COM username account. Are you clear on that?
Are you logged in as Admin? That is required.
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, (which is the unique identifier) , and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
You can change your email address on your accounts page at https://wordpress.com/me/account
Be sure to consult these guides:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/gmail-issues/Issues Changing your Email Address https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/#issues-changing-your-email-address
Clicking this link should display all blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf the log-in information is lost visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If you are still not successful post the correct email address here and the software will redact it (hide it so only Staff can see it). Then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Also I can’t remember how to update my blogroll.
See here please > Add a Blogroll Link
https://en.support.wordpress.com/blogroll/add-a-blogroll-link/ -
I also see that the theme on the site at https://renachurch.wordpress.com/ is MistyLook and it is an older retired theme. Retired themes do not support all wordpress.COM features, therefore, the recommendation is to switch themes and that’s easy to do.
The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.
Perhaps browsing one of these themes will inspire you:
