Change my homepage like the demo sela

I am trying to convert my old page to a new theme..Sela. I would like to have it look like the demo, but my posts disappear and I can’t change the template on the homepage in page attributes because it is grey with no edit button next to it. Can someone PLEASE help me stop the madness. I have been up all night and day trying to figure it out and just can’t seem to figure it out. Here is the link to my site. https://ministrygirl.com
