  I started a website, getrealwiththeworld.wordpress.com. Is is possible to shorten that, for some fee, to getrealwiththeworld.com?

  Hi there. To remove the “wordpress” bit from your blog address (URL) you need to buy a custom domain. You can buy it directly from WordPress.com or you can buy it from another web registrar and then buy the mapping upgrade from WP.com. The first option is the simplest. Your domain will need to be renewed every year for as long as you want to use it.

  Note that even with a custom domain you’ll still be hosted with WordPress.com, so the same Terms of Service for your free blog still applies. See these for more information:
