  Hello, I would like to change my site to a blog and not sure how to do it. Could you please help me.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Deleted .wordpress.com blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  You can register another .wordpress.com blog URL only if it has not been registered previously http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  If you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

  I just want to write a blog, but when I joined WordPress I selected website because at the time that is what I wanted. But it just seems really complicated!!

  Yes, it is complicated. Do you understand that you deleted the site you had and now have to register another one? You can register another .wordpress.com blog URL only if it has not been registered previously http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
