    Hello,

    I need to change my domain name from longtabdad to longtabtexasdad. What do I need to do? Thank you.

    Hi Josh,

    Most domains, including any .com domains, are registered for a full year at a time, and it’s not possible to edit a domain after you buy it. You can only replace it with a completely different domain, i.e. you’d need to buy the new domain you want separately from your preferred domain provider, and then connect it to your site at your hosting provider.

    If you’ve already bought the new domain and want to connect it to your site, please contact support at Bluehost.com, where your site is hosted, directly for help with this, as you’ll need to do this via your hosting control panel with them. Their support will also be able advise you whether you need to make any changes within the WordPress software itself.

    The forum you’re posting to here is for another hosting provider like Bluehost, WordPress.com. We’re not the same thing as the WordPress software you’re using for your site – that’s made over on WordPress.org.

    You have your site connected to your WordPress.com account via a plugin called Jetpack, but we have no control over your domain or how it’s connected to your site.
