Hi all, here is my next Options, as you know must have a good name for the site that is relevant to actions that occur there. I did not do so, I was a beginner and said that no one thousand. Now I Discutii100ro.com which at first was another thing, this blog has evolved along the site and pro topics unrelated site name. I want to change it to make a new name to represent the action of the site. I will definitely say that you can not. I thought I was doing another wordpress site, and upload the photo current topics that are less significant. Google may see double content and throw me in the trash. I want to change that, but not before asking your opinion, wordpress and dear friends. What to do in my fell, expect answers from you, beautiful thank Cristian.

    Hi Cristian,

There’s not really a way to change a custom domain name (like yours, discutii100ro.com). And you’re right, setting up a duplicate site is not good for search engines because they have trouble determining which site is the “original” and it discounts them both.

So the best thing in your situation is to go ahead and register a new domain name for the same WordPress.com site you’re already using. Don’t setup a new site entirely, just register your new preferred domain name along with discutii100ro.com. You can do that here:

    https://wordpress.com/domains/

After registering your new, preferred name, visit this page:

    https://wordpress.com/my-domains/

Set your new domain name as the “Primary Domain.” This will redirect any links from discutii100ro.com URLs to your new domain name — and Google will figure this out too over time and redirects like this are not bad for Search Engine Optimization. However, you’ll want to keep that discutii100ro.com renewed and active for as long as any links pointing to that domain, instead of your new one, are getting traffic.

It means paying for two domains, but you won’t lose any traffic or progress from it!

-Sal Alex G. Many thanks for the reply.
-Look, If I make a new blog with a new name, buy the package that suits me the domain name, then you delete the current definitive blog, I will save the current data.
-Yet What I want I do not want to be related to the current blog, I do not want to give up wordpress, I love your service and go with wordpress.
-I’ll Start at 0 has no importance, this blog Discutii100ro already has many errors, the first I gave importance to many.
My -Blogul Discutii100ro has a lot of customization, photos, articles, what you say means to rewrite a lot in blogsite.
-You Look new opinions, thank you, Cristian.

If you’re wanting a total clean slate, the easiest thing is to create a new site:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/create-a-blog/#adding-new-site to-an-existing-account

You can purchase a new domain name for the new site during that process. ,

Following those steps, there will be no connection between discutii100ro.com and the new site.

Okay Alex, what I understood from the first, what happens after deletion Discutii100ro will continue google indexing or indexing will continue wordpress .. How long will disappear Discutii100ro in search engine results ..
Another way I double content, as you said engines will not know any date that is original site. I said I’ll save all the data, then you do another website in which I fell I can not replace Discutii100ro.com name.
Please come back nicely then I close my topic after. Thank you very much Sir Alex. Cristian.

    Hi Cristian,

Only Google controls who long search results stay up — even on sites that are totally deleted cached results stay up for a while – months even. If you set the new site up where Discutii100ro redirects to your new domain name, the links will likely change over to the new name faster than the Discutii100ro links would be deleted after the site is deleted. The additional benefit of course is that even if the Discutii100ro link stays up on Google — it just gets forwarded to the new domain name. :)

If you plan to use any of the same content currently posted at Discutii100ro.com — I’d highly recommend the process of adding a new domain registration on top of the current site.

My recommendation of setting up an entirely new site with the new domain name is only a recommendation if you plan to re-use none of the current content and just plan to produce a new site. (When I say re-use content here, I of course do not mean discussing any of the same topics, but just word-for-word the same posts. Discussing the same topics again is good.)

    -Alex G.
