change name of blog/delete purchased domain
-
1. One of our staff improperly named the blog http://bluehouseenergy.wordpress.com/
I have changed this on general settings to http://bfreehomes.wordpress.com
However, http://bfreehomes.wordpress.comThe problem is that I now have two domains:
bfreehomes.wordpress.com
reblockcanada.comThese are two separate businesses so one can’t be the primary domain – what have we done wrong here?
2. The DNS for bfreehomes.com resides on a remote server. Our web has placed a redirect on bfreehomes.com to reblockcanada.com. When you go to bfreehomes.wordpress.com you are redirected to REBlockcanada.com. Could this re-direct be affecting this behaviour on wordpress.com?
3. We purchased a custom domain on wordpress. com for bfreehomes.com. We want to delete this as we wish the DNS to remain on remote servers.
Thanks for help in unravelling this hydra.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Domains are tricky, no mistake!
I think we can get this sorted, no problem! There is only so much I can do, since your account isn’t associated with the blog, but I can explain what needs to be done. If the original creator could comment here as well we will have more freedom to make changes on your behalf.
So your blog bfreehomes.wordpress.com has the custom domain reblockcanada.com. This type of thing is pretty typical – people want to have a blog (whatever.wordpress.com), and then mask the URL with a custom comain (whatever.com). Typing in either address will take their viewers to their site. What you’ve done is get a custom domain that you want for a different site and associated it with this blog. And it sounds like you have bfreehomes.com ready to go, but not mapped to this blog.
You don’t want to cancel either domain (bfreehomes.com or reblockcanada.com, because once you do, they go into a holding period with the registrar and there’s no guarantee that they will release it again after the 60 day wait). So it would be best if we map your bfreehomes.com domain to the blog it should be associated with, and after 60 days (after domains are purchased they can not be transferred for 60 days), then we can help you transfer it to your preferred registrar.
If the original blog creator can comment, I can unmap reblockcanada.com from the bfreehomes.wordpress.com blog, so you can map the bfreehomes.com domain to it instead. Then you’ll be able to map reblockcanada.com to any site you wish.
Cheers!
