Change Name Servers

  Hi,

  I want to point my domain to wordpress.org. I have removed my domain and my site from wordpress.com but i did not change the name servers before i did so. My domain was purchased from Go Daddy, I have changed the DNS to default on there yet i get this error when i search my site ‘Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.’ Any ideas?

  If yes, then I should inform you that it successfully takes me to a wordpress.org site.

  When did you change the DNS records? It sometime takes about 72 hours for the DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It also depends on how frequently your ISP updates the DNS. So it varies from location to location.

  My suggestion would be to wait for about 72 hours and see if you can access your wordpress.org site.

  If you have already waited for a really long time, you can try these:
  1. Clear your browsers cache and cookies and then try to access your site.

  2. Clear your systems DNS cache by following these steps(for windows):
  i. Right click on the start menu and choose Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
  ii. Type in the command window ipconfig /flushdns.

  If you’ve already tried everything then you can reach staff to get help from them regarding this topic. To reach staff you can tag this question with the modlook tag on the Tags section of the sidebar.

  Good Morning –

  The changes have been successful on my end. I no longer see a WordPress.com site at barnbyte.com and the dns propagation shows the name servers at domain control rather than WordPress.com.

  Let me know if you need further help.

  I’ve also refunded the last £11 of your purchase price, since it didn’t all go through the first time. The funds should reach you in about ten days.
