  How do I convert a blog I have with wordpress into a differnt blog and without “wordpress” in the website address?

  When you say convert your blog into a different blog, can you elaborate a bit more? Are you wanting a different theme?

  As far as eliminating wordpress.com from your site address, you can always purchase a custom domain of your liking. The following link gives detail as to go about purchasing a domain name:
