If you are referring to another site read on, please.
You must be logged in under the username account that registered the site first. Then to empty the site you have two options:
(1) Doing this quickly and easily yourself http://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
(2) Waiting in a queue and having Staff do it for you.Staff can empty the whole blog for you. That will remove all data including posts, pages, tags, categories, comments, and uploaded files and once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.
If you are sure you want Staff to proceed, and you are prepared to wait then type modlook into the tags in the sidebar of this thread for Staff attention, and post here again to:
(1) confirm the URL of the blog you want them to empty;
(2) confirm that you know content deletion is irreversible. -

I’m very new to this all, just opened my blog earlier today.
At first when I started with the setup, the site asked me what my blog would be about, I chose “Music”, but after finishing setup I realized I would rather want to write about family on this blog. I haven’t posted anything yet, so I don’t have to take anything down, I basically just want to find out if I can write about anything on my blog or is it bound to the “Music” option I chose at first?

The subject matter doesn’t make a difference in this case. I think you just need help with either (1) setting up the theme you have chosen or (2) with switching themes.

By default, the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post, not a page, the error message will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

A blog is a website. The difference between blog and website is simply structure and semantics.
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one-way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.

Switching themes can be easily done. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do a lot of work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme with different features and/or if you have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.
