change of "display" name = blog deletion ?

  I changed the “display” name from “cantueso” to “anagasto”.
  Wordpress then asked me whether I wanted to “adapt” my blog address to the new display name.
  There was no warning that it meant deleting my blog and publishing in its place in big lettersd:

  cantueso.wordpress.com is no longer available.
  The authors have deleted this site.

  The blog itself however is still there. It was not deleted, only made unavailable, and my links to it are all broken.

  Is that right?
