Change of Display Name Problem

My Profile page displays nothing. I just want to change my display name.

I do not want to change my user name. I only want to change the display name in my profile page – but my profile page is empty and looks nothing like the example in the help pages.

2. Change the value next to Display name publicly as under Basic Details

I am sorry for not being very clear. I will try again, and hopefully someone can help me solve this problem.
I want to change a piece of information on the user or personal profile page for my blog. The piece of information I would like to change is the display name or nickname. I do not want to change my user name.
When I go from the dashboard to the profile page, it says:My Public Profile
Information entered below will be displayed publicly on your profile and in Gravatar Hovercards. You may also edit your profile at gravatar.com.Were you looking for your API Key and other Personal Settings?
On the right side of this page at the top is a box for the gravatar stuff.
And that’s all I get, the rest of the screen/ page is white/ blank. There is no information below. There is nothing I can change and no save-changes or Update Settings button either. Nothing. No way for me to change my display name.
So I went to the help pages.
Change Display Name (Nickname)
1. Access your User Profile
2. Change the value next to Display name publicly as under Basic Details
3. Click Update Profile.So I go back to my blank screen and I can’t find anything to allow me to follow these 3 instructions.
I scoured the help areas and found a screengrab that showed the profile page as filled with information – including the display name – that could be changed. This is NOT anything like what I get on mine.
I do not know why I am unable to get a profile page with contents like the screengrab and instructions – I get nothing, and not only that, but I cannot change the display name.

It sounds to me like the form section of the User Profile, where you can change your display name, is not visible in your browser. Is this correct? (see the screen shot of the Public Profile page to see what whole page should look like)
If so, does this happen on any other pages that also have forms? For example, on your Personal Settings page, can you see the form at the bottom of the page where you enter your email address and website?
I am wondering if the issue could be with your browser…it may not be displaying forms for some reason. What browser are you using?

You are right; the screen shot of the Public Profile page does not look like my blank page, but I can, however, see the form at the bottom of the Personal Settings page where I can enter my e-mail address and website, so this made me think it was not my Chrome browser, which lead me to ask here. I have checked other forms and so forth. I suppose I shall have to resign myself to this glitch if I am the only one experiencing the problem!
