Change of DNS on online.net
-
Hello,
I bought the name http://www.gettingthevoiceout.org on the website online.net. I didn’t know I could do it on wordpress.
Now I would like to link this adress to my blog gettingthevoiceout.wordpress.com, so that when we give the adress gettingthevoiceout.org, it goes directly to my blog.
Can I do it my mapping ? I wanted to change my DNS serveur on online. net website, but it is not possible. Can you tell me how to do ?
Thanks for you help.

Hi there,
Yes, you can indeed use our domain mapping option to do so: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
Luckily, I happen to speak French too, so I was able to find the documentation you’d need to follow on online.net for you. :)
See http://documentation.online.net/fr/nom-de-domaine/gestion-serveurs-dns?s%5B%5D=dns

When I want to change the DNS it says :
Impossible de mettre à jour vos serveurs dns
Ce serveur n’est pas listé comme autoritaire??

Hi there,
Are you receiving this error when trying to change the name servers for gettingthevoiceout.org?
If so, you might want to contact your domain registrar for assistance.
Sometimes we’ll need to create zone records for country-related domains, like example.fr. So if you’re trying to map such a domain, let us know. :-)

Hi staff :)
It is not for a .fr, it is for the domain gettingthevoiceout.org.
I am just wondering now if I should just make a ligne on the page gettingthevoiceout.org to redirect directly to my blog. Like this http://www.gettingthevoiceout.org
Maybe it is enough…
What mapping will do more than that ?
Thanks a lot

Just forwarding will result in some issues with your blog, like being unable to preview items. Also, your blogs will still have the [blog].wordpress.com URL.
We have zone record added for your domain, so there should be nothing preventing you from directing your nameservers here.
Your domain is your property to do with as you wish, so I’d ask your registrar why they’re preventing you from changing your nameservers.
