  How do I change my website from sailingpilgrim.wordpress.com to sailingpilgrim.com

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there! So you are changing from wordpress.com to self-hosting your website?

  The steps are basically:
  1) Register your domain name (sailingpilgrim.com) and get a good hosting company (Lots of people like Bluehost)

  2) Export data from WordPress (Tools, Export, Free option, All Content)

  3) Set up a fresh WordPress install on your newly created site – http://www.sailingpilgrim.com

  4) Importing content from old WP site to the new. Tools > Import option in your self-hosted WordPress.org dashboard. Next click on WordPress. You will be asked to install the WordPress Importer plugin. Once you install it, activate and run the importer plugin. It will take you to a screen where you will be asked to upload your WordPress.com XML file that you downloaded earlier.

  How do i change my Domene name from one website to wordpress.
  i have the auth code, but were and how do i use it?

  If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you can move the domain to another site if you have had it registered with us for at least 60 days:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/

  Otherwise, you can keep the domain registered here and point to your new site host. For more information on using the domain elsewhere, please see:
