Change of email address

Today I changed my email address in Dashboard >> Settings >> General and got the usual confirmation email.
However, when I click in the link, it simply takes me back to the same page and it still says:
This address is used for admin purposes. If you change this we will send you an e-mail at your new address to confirm it. The new address will not become active until confirmed.
So how do I confirm it, I wonder?

Normally an email is sent to the new email address for confirmation purposes. And clicking that link in the confirmation email would achieve this. Please check your email spam filter at the new email address and if you cannot locate the confirmation email then you will have to contact Staff. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Will contact staf.. The email came with a link, but nothing happens. I’ve found two old posts with the same question, with no resolution.

Nothing yet. Funnily enough, yesterday I got some comment notification emails to BOTH addresses, then today they are back to coming to the old address!

The support link is closed. We Volunteers cannot help so … you are going to have to wait for the weekend to pass and Staff to get back to you. Sorry. :(

No worries – I’ve aldready contacted support – I was more updating in case anyone else has the same problem.
