Change of email address in backend of WP site

HI. I have changed my email address in my WordPress site at Settings – General settings. The message in WordPress states that I will receive an email to that new address that I then need to open to confirm my new email address – so the change of email address can be made on my WP site.
However after 48hrs, I have not received an email – it’s the correct email address and I’ve checked junk and spam folders.
Anyone any advice as to why I’m not receiving the email? And how to fix it?

I am not seeing a pending email change on your WordPress.com account.
Can you please check https://wordpress.com/me/account for me and confirm that your email address is correct? If the email is correct, no further action is needed on your end.
