change of password problem

I am trying to change my password and have been trying all morning. when i click on the “send me a new password” i get a link in my mail sending me back to put in my password – i do not get a new password so can’t log in. the only way i have thought of to resolve this issue is to create a new account so that i can ask a question on the forum!!!
There seems (to me) to be a problem with the “get a new password” link – or tell me, is it just me…. -
Not sure what you are doing but that sounds nothing like the “lost your password” method around here. Maybe a lot more details with specifics might help. Lets walk through the process though for you since I just did it to double check. :)
When you view your blog’s wp-admin.php page, you’ll have a that says “Lost your password?” If you click on that link, it’ll take you to a form located at http://myblog/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword where you type in your username and your email address. After you hit enter, WordPress will send you an email containing a link under the bit “To reset your password visit the following address, otherwise just ignore this email and nothing will happen.” If you click on the link (Or if your using a broken email client like Outlook and haven’t turned off html, copied and pasted it to a browser window since the link will be broken) it will take you to a WordPress page that says something like “Check your email. We’ve sent you a new password.” That’s the new password for you to log in on the normal wp-admin.php page. You can then change your password back to the original in your Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile -> Update Your Password.

hey – i solved it myself! As i’m travelling i’m having to use a hotmail account – and although responses to changing my e-mail were coming through, the actual password was directed (don’t ask why) into my “junk mail” file – there are all my passwords.

The same thing happened to me. Password request after password request! No password (apparently).
Then I found this thread.

I’m having the same problem but no email is coming through to either my inbox or bulk on yahoo.
Anybody got any suggestions?

Did you look in the spam file? Usually WordPress emails go there unless you’ve gotten a lot of them and cleared them. There was a problem with emails at Yahoo a week or so back, but I believe it was cleared up.
Send a Feedback to staff with all the details including your email and maybe they can help you.

hm shit exactly this happen, but i already cleaned db and reinstalled it now i got a new password ;( thx-a-lot for the info
