Change of site address

  Hi, I was asked to follow instruction given on https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/#change-your-word-press-com-site-address

  but there shows no option to change the primary site address on my account. The 3 dots, don’t show up in my account. How am I suppose to change my site address? I want to chnage it without having to upgrade. I want a free one but can’tseem to get an option to change it.

  Also, I have other wordpress sites linked to this account. I fI remove them from this account, will my linked websites get permantanly deleted or will just get unlinked from this website? Pls help.

  From what I can see thetrendzsetter.wordpress.com is currently the primary domain.

  Is there another domain you’d like to use? This will help to determine next steps.

  I checked and theboldstuff.wordpress.com is deleted. Looks like it was deleted two days ago. Were you wanting the site to be restored?

  Yes! I tried to change the site address and it created a new site altogether. So I had to delete it.

  I don’t want to create a new site but, wanna change the site address on the current one. How do I do it?

  Hi there,

  I’ve restored theboldstuff.wordpress.com back to your account. You can now switch to that address by exporting the content from your current site and importing them there. Here’s a guide on how to do that:

  Hi there,

  I don’t want to create a new site but, want to change the site name on the current one. Exporting it would make me lose all followers which I do not want to.

  I tried changing it in the past and it somehow created a completely new site address so I deleted it.

  Is there any way I could change it on the current one, please?

  Ok, to check – theboldstuff.wordpress.com is the desired address you’d like to use?

  If yes, are you able to provide the old address which contains the followers please as we can look to move followers from one site to another for you.

  I wish to change this to theboldstuff.wordpress.com and don’t want to lose any content or my followers.

  Ok thank you for that confirmation there!

  As theboldstuff.wordpress.com is now an active site, it would not be possible to change the domain of thetrendzsetter.wordpress.com to that domain.

  With that in mind, I would recommend the next steps be as follows:

  1. If required, export the content from thetrendzsetter.wordpress.com (https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/)
  2. Import the content into theboldstuff.wordpress.com (https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/)
  3. We would then be able to move the followers at this request
  4. It’s possible to then redirect one site to another via our site redirect: https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/

  How does this sound?
