Change of site address
-
I have recently changed the site address (My Site > Domains > Change Site Address), however the old site address still appears on google. When clicked on, it says that the site is no longer available.
Did I not redirect the new site address properly?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Looks like you changed from apoaasia.wordpress.com to the current address and discarded the old one in the process of doing so. This permanently deleted the old address, and WordPress.com does not automatically redirect from the old to the new. To redirect, you need to keep the old one and purchase a Site Redirect upgrade.
Google doesn’t update changed pages immediately, and it can be some weeks before they see that change. You can speed that up by requesting a removal and submitting the new address.
Removals: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals
Submissions: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-urlBecause the old site is deleted, you can’t add a redirect. This was always irreversible, but they’ve recently added the ability to restore sites within 30 days. That might apply here too for the changed domain (I’m not sure yet!), and you can tag the post with modlook to ask staff to let you know what they can do to restore that. You’d still need to pay for a redirect to take the traffic from the old to the new address.
