Change of the admin email never happens

Heya,
I just created this account on wordpress as for some reason the associated email address doesn’t seem to exist, buuut I’m looking at the backend and can see the request I’ve made to change the admin email address.
I no longer have access to the original address as I’d set it up as a throwaway one, and my password manager didn’t actually save the login it generated, or I doofed somewhere along the lines, either way, can’t get into that one anymore.So, it says “There is a pending change of the admin email to” but it’s said that for the last 4-5 days. Surely it doesn’t take this long to change the address? I have access to the email that it’s supposedly changing over to, but there’s nothing in the inbox. Any ideas?
