Change of the e-mail linked to the blog

  I would like to change the e-mail linked to my blog http://adhucat.wordpress.com, but WordPress tells me the new e-mail is already being used. The point is that this new e-mail was linked to a blog that I don’t use anymore and that I deleted, but even so WordPress still tells me it is in use. Any idea?

  Hi there, since your email address is your unique identifier, you must have another WordPress.com account. You’d need to log in to that other account and change the email address there before it will become available for this account.

  Be aware that if you delete that other account without changing the email address, the email address will be locked for 30 days until it is purged from the system.

  I am sorry, I don’t understand it.

  Let’s see:

  I have a blog (A) linked to an e-mail adress (A1). Till last week, I had another blog (B) linked to another e-mail adress of my own (B1). I deleted B, and now I want to link A to B1, but WordPress tells me B1 is already in use, but it is not.

  Hello again, Account information is stored for 30 days in case you wish to recover the account or site associated with it. After that it is purged.

  As I mentioned above, if you deleted B without changing the email address to something else first, then you’ll need to wait the 30 days until the information for B has been purged from the system. After that you’ll be able to change email address.

  Hi there,

  If you still have the account closure email we sent you for the deleted account, you can reply to that and ask that we immediately delete the email from the account. Then you’ll be able to use it for this account without having to wait 30 days.

  Just keep in mind that should you do this, it will be completely impossible to undelete the other account should you change your mind before the 30 days are up.
