change of web address

  Hi, I’d like to change the name of my domain from “http://romaniadontkilldogs.com” to “theplightofstraydogs” without losing my content. how can I do that? thanks

  I managed to change my wordpress name, but the domain is still showing as “romaniadontkildogs.com”. How can I change that to “theplightofstraydogs” to match my blog address?

  You can always add another domain to your site here:

  Register a New Domain

  Also, I’d be happy to cancel romaniadontkilldogs.com and refund its renewal charge, if you no longer require it.

  Before I proceed, there are a few points I need to cover.

  If we cancel your domain, it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again, once canceled.

  If you want to keep using your domain, but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

  I don’t want a refund. I’d rather have a domain site with a new name such as “theplightofstraydogs.com” with all my current content in it.

  Is that possible? If yes, what do I need to do?

  I’ve changed my primary domain to “http://theplightofstraydogs.wordpress.com”. Can I upgrade that instead of a refund?

  Could I have a refund for “romaniadontkilldogs.com”? I don’t need that domain name.
  And I can just upgrade my “theplightofstraydogs.wordpress” and still keep all my content?

  Do I understand it correctly?

  A last question: I did upgrade my new domain name, but it still shows as “theplightofstraydogs.wordpress.com”
  How long before it’s changed to “theplightofstraydogs.com”?

  I don’t see any custom domains associated with your account, romaniadontkilldogs, but DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to become effective.
