Change order of testimonials in Dara theme

    Hello there, I love the Dara theme. I currently have 5 testimonials.
    However I do not seem to be able to change the order of them.

    I would like to change it both in the way they are displayed on the front page (being able to select which 2 of the 5 should be displayed there) as well as in the order on the Testimonials page itself.

    Things I have already tried:
    1) Changing the Attributes -> Order to any number does not make any difference.
    2) Changing the publishing date and time does not make any difference.

    The default order keeps to the order of when I originally published the testimonials (last one published is on top).

    Any help anyone? Thanks!

    Hi,

    On a test site with the Dara theme applied, I also found that changing the Order at Post Attributes on the editor of each testimonial had no effect. I don’t know why they would include modifiable order numbers if they don’t affect the order.

    However, changing the publish date does work in my tests. It might be necessary to have them a certain number of hours apart in order to have them displayed in the revised order. Having them a few hours apart might be insufficient to put them in the desired order. Giving each testimonial a unique publish date should work.

    The Testimonials section of the Dara theme guide says:

    Dara features testimonials in two ways:

    • The dedicated Testimonial Archive Page displays all testimonials in reverse chronological order, with the newest displayed first.
    • The static front page displays the newest two testimonials.

    So the way to change the way to change the order on the dedicated Testimonials page is to selectively modify the published dates so that the one you want displayed first has the most recent publish date, the one displayed last has the earliest publish date, and the publish dates of the others are changed accordingly as necessary.

    To have the selected two appear in the featured testimonials section of the static front page, give them the two most recent publish dates. The order will remain reverse chronological.

    Thank you very much for this. This works. I can also randomise the appearance of testimonies on the front page by selecting a box in the customiser. Thanks again.

    I’d missed the check box at Customize > Theme Options > Randomize Front Page Testimonials.
