Change orientation of menu

  I have the “Motif” theme. It allows me 2 menus. For my footer menu, I’d like to change the layout so instead of going horizontally across the bottom of the page, it is displayed vertically . The “motif” demo theme has it this way and that’s what I’d like to achieve.
