change over to a new site owner

  I want to change one of my sites, http://anotherchanceokanagan.com to a different owner, if possible. Or can I only change the admin? Or only add another user? Thanks

  We can transfer the ownership of the site for you. :)

  You’re the current owner of the site anotherchanceokanagan.wordpress.com and it’s domain mapping upgrade, anotherchanceokanagan.com .

  Would you please confirm to what username these should be transferred?

  Also please confirm if you would like your previous content (posts, comments) transferred to the new username as well.

  Note that once you transfer ownership, the new owner will have complete control of the site and may remove your access at their discretion.

  Awesome. I have spoken to Tineka and Peter Harris, who will be taking over the site, and they want the username to be anotherchance.

  And yes, they all want the previous content to be transferred (seeing as how it was mostly from them anyway–I was just doing the posting for them) to the new username.

  I am happy to let them have complete control of the site! I want to focus on my own other sites :-)

  Will the password remain the same until they take over and change it to their own? How does that work?

  Their email is (email visible only to moderators and staff) and phone is 1-250-448-0807.

  Well the first thing is that Tineka and Peter will need to register their username. They can do that here:

  https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1

  Sadly the username “anotherchance” is already registered so they will need to choose another one. That signup form will walk them through it. :)

  Once they have registered, if you would please confirm what username they’re using I can get that transfer taken care of. (The request needs to come from you, the present owner, not them.)

  Will the password remain the same until they take over and change it to their own? How does that work?

  Once I get it all transferred, they’ll only have to login with the password they choose for their new username. No need to share your current password at all. :)

  Okay, Tineka has filled in the signup form, using the username “hockeybooks5” … so you can do the transfer

  The site, anotherchanceokanagan.wordpress.com, and its domain mapping upgrade for anotherchanceokanagan.com is now owned by the user hockeybooks5 and all of its content was mapped to that user account as well.

  That mapping process does remove the old user from the site, so if they need you back on the site for guest posts or anything like, ask them to Invite you as a user.

  If you’ve not already done so, you may also want transfer ownership of the domain registration for anotherchanceokanagan.com — that domain appears to be registered with FastDomain. This is separate from the domain mapping upgrade here at WordPress.com, but will need to remain active if they want to continue using anotherchanceokanagan.com.

  They will also be responsible for updating the domain’s contact information with ICANN. Instructions to do this can be found with FastDomain.
