  if i shorten 3 page titles in the header bar will i have to change all the posts

  If you want to shorted the titles of the pages in the navigation area of the theme you are using, you’ll need to change the titles of only the specific pages needed.

  Does that answer the question? I’m not entirely sure I grokked the question.

  i have 1 page with a 6 word title, i want to make it 3

  You’ll have to edit the page and change the title, which will change it in your navigation.
