Change PayPal Account

  Dear WordPress-Support,

  when I bought the domain mapping for my blog, I used my son’s PayPal-account. Now I would like to have the yearly fee to be booked from my wife’s PayPal-account but I can’t find an option to change it, I would still use the auto renewal. How can I change my PayPal-account for further bookings?

  Hi there,

  The best way to do this would be to disable auto renew via your Upgrades page here:

  https://piperpa18.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

  Just use the “Disable Auto Renew” link beneath the individual upgrade. Then, when you click to enable the auto renew again, you should be able to select a different payment method or Paypal account. Can you give that a try?

  Hi!

  I apologize for the misinformation. It appears as though if you purchased the upgrade with one PayPal account, you cannot then enable auto renew from a different PayPal account. Here are two different options:

  1. You can disable auto renew and wait until the upgrade is closer to expiration. Then, you can renew it from the new PayPal account and setup auto renewal from the new account that way.

  2. You can disable auto renew and enable it again from a credit card, not through a PayPal account.

  Hi,

  thanks for your support, I’ve unabled the auto renew. I’m going to get a notice before having the upgrade expired, right? So I can enable it again with the new PayPal account at that point of time, just like you explained. Can you give me a last info when “the upgrade is closer to expiration”? Like one month before or something like that?

  Hi!

  You should receive renewal notices at 90, 60, 30, 14, 5, and 2 days prior to expiration to the email address on file for your account. Those emails may wind up getting caught in the spam folder though so you might want to setup a rule for emails from WordPress.com to land in your inbox.

  Currently, the upgrade is set to expire on 5/21/14 as shown here:
