change permalink date format to category format

  in the permalink, it would be nice to select that the category be displayed instead of the date. I know this is done in the hosted wordpress applications on the settings screen, is there some way to do it on wordpress.com?

  Unfortunately, permalinks cannot be altered at WordPress.com.

  Yes, I know they can’t at the moment, however, I am asking if it is possible in the future. It would be handy if it is technically possible. I guess I’m asking if the feature can be added.
