change position of category name on post/archive pages, etc.

Currently, category names in my current theme are in the post meta footer. I would like to change them so they appear above the title. Likewise, if possible, have the date below the title.
Here is a theme which shows what I want. Notice the category box above the post title “Bloodborne Gameplay Walkthrough”

Unfortunately that feature looks to be theme specific and not available for use within your current theme.

As an alternative option, I am placing emoji’s in front of the post titles. Other than screwing up alphabetical sorts (which I don’t plan to use), do you see any problems on the front or back end? Not exactly a CSS question, so I posted this question in support. But just curious about what you have to say about it.
I began placing them on the page. You can check it out yourself.

Looks good, great way to create a visual separation between posts and doesn’t seem to be causing any immediate irregularities.
