Change position of comment field
-
Hi there!
I used the comment function as a “guestbook” on my website. As it is now filling with comments, it would be easier for the user, if the comment field would be on the top of the page and not at the end. Is it possible to change the position with CSS? Thanks a lot!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can use the following to do that, but Internet Explorer doesn’t support this fully until Version 11, so any on version 10 or older will not see this change. As far as Firefox, Chrome and Safari go, they have supported it for quite a while, so I doubt it would be any issue for any of those users.
.page-id-88 #comments { display: -webkit-flex; display: flex; -webkit-flex-direction: column; flex-direction: column; } .page-id-88 #respond { -webkit-order: 1; order: 1; } .page-id-88 .commentlist { -webkit-order: 2; order: 2; } -

Hi again! Can I ask you one more question? Do you know, if it is possible to change the order of the comments?
As the comment field is now at the beginning of the page, it would make sense to have the most recent comments at the top. Thanks… -
Hi, there is a global setting under Settings > Discussion where you can choose that changes the order of all comments on all posts and pages. You can choose to have either newest to oldest or oldest to newest.
There is no way to change it for just one page with CSS.

Yeah, this sounds logical. Sorry for asking :-) I could have seen it myself. It works! Thank you again.

You are welcome, and no worries. Even as long as I’ve been here doing this, I have those moments when I forget where something is. Glad that all worked for you.
