Change primary address to www.

  Hello,

  I would like to change my primary address to http://www.soundservice.ro. I tried connecting http://www.soundservice.ro as a new domain, alongside soundservice.ro, however I received the following error:
  soundservice.ro is already connected to this site and cannot be transferred to WordPress.com. Learn more.

  I tried reaching out to support about this issue, but I haven’t been able to get through to a human.

  Hi there!

  You don’t need to connect it separately — since soundservice.ro is already linked to your site, http://www.soundservice.ro is just a subdomain of that domain.

  What you’ll want to do is manage the DNS settings for your existing domain and make sure the domain points correctly. You can follow the steps from this guide to manually update your DNS to point to WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/?#option-2-manual-setup

  The www-prefix is seen as an old habit from the early internet era and is now unnecessary for functionality as browsers and servers handle domain access without it.

  DNS is configured, www. is a CNAME of soundservice.ro, the A record point to WordPress.

  I’m trying to make www. my primary address. When I navigate to http://www.soundservice.ro, it redirects (301) to soundservice.ro. I would like it to be the other way around, the be consistent with the behavior of the website up to the WordPress migration.

  I agree with @staartmees, at the same time this is not a new website and I would like to avoid any impediments with respect to search engine indexing.

  I haven’t tried much so far, since I couldn’t intuitively find the configuration in the WordPress platform.
