change profile picture

I am trying to update my profile picture, however when i go to do so a website named Gravatar pops up instead, so i connected to it and waited for my conformation email but i have still not received one. all i wanted to do was simply edit the way my blog looks i dont understand why i must go through another website to do that.

If you’re trying to change your avatar, you can use Gravatar.com (which is a service that we operate).
You can alternatively visit account settings, and hover over the image that’s currently being used. You’ll see an option to upload a new image, if you’d like.
