change publish from schedule to immediate

  WordPress regularly sets my posts to publish on a scheduled date/time instead of immediately. I can’t figure out why this is happening or how to change it back to immediately. Help!

  Hi there,

  If you’re using the post editor at https://wordpress.com/post you can choose “Publish immediately” in the “Change Status” box to have your posts publish immediately instead of at a scheduled time.

  Where is the “Change Status” box? I’m not seeing it. I would provide a screenshot of what my Publish box looks like but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do that here.

  Hi there,

  In the post editor at https://wordpress.com/post the “Change Status” box is near the top of the sidebar. Here’s a screenshot showing the “Publish Immediately” option and the section for editing the post’s date/time: https://cloudup.com/cOzs9wuM2s8

  My interface doesn’t look like that. How do you get there?

  To access my posts, I open my site and hover over “My Site” inn the upper left corner. Then under “Publish” I click “Blog Posts”. It lists all of my posts, both published and draft. I click a draft post to open it in edit mode, and I get a Publish box in the upper right corner which does not include those checkbox options.

  Instead of the screenshot that Rachel showed, do you see this box in the top right-hand corner when you’re editing a post?

  For example, do you see that box on the following draft page?

  If so, you can adjust the publish date using the Edit link here:

  Provided you set the publish date to sometime in the past, the blue button should read Publish instead of Schedule and the post should publish. Can you give that a try?

  If you would like to use the interface that Rachel pointed out originally instead, you can click the link at the top of that page I linked. The link should read “Switch to the improved posting experience”.
