  How do I change my website address? I changed it in my settings but it hasn’t updated. I

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Where in your settings did you change it? From what to what?

  In settings, I selected account options and then in the field “web address” I changed it from http://inkewithaquill.wordpress.com to http://inkedwithaquill.wordpress.com (I added a “d” to the word “inke”)

  That action does not change your web address (URL). Go to the Changing a Blog Address support page, to learn the steps to follow in order to replace your present website address with another.

  Thanks. That helped a lot!
  Just one more question, if I decide to change my blog address and discard my old blog address, will I still have my followers, posts, etc?

  Blog content will remain the same as far as I know. However, there is an issue regarding loss of subscribers. You might want to check out the following support forum thread “You will lose followers if you change Blog Web Address,” which was begun in October 2013 and closed unresolved in March 2014.

  You will need to purchase the Redirect Upgrade to move followers to the new blog and have links go there.

  It seems to me though that internal links to your website URL, and post and page URLs, archive pages, galleries, images, etc. might all be broken with an website address change. That would be a nightmare on my main site.

  I’m relieved to hear this. The only domain changes I support are buying a custom domain. That’s always worth it. Otherwise messing with the domain just throws you down the well in terms of search engine rankings.
