Change site address unavailable

  Id like to change my address from .home.blog to .wordpress.com and I’ve gone through the steps to do so but the activation button is greyed out. ive gone to the adress I would like to use and its not active (says site has been deleted). Any way I can claim this site? Thanks

  After you change the drop down on that page from .home.blog to .wordpress.com, you’ll also want to retype the subdomain into the space. Try that? It should activate the button if the site address you want is available to claim.

  However, if the site is deleted, it cannot be used. Deleted sites are not recycled. Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com). If you did not own that site and personally delete it in the last 30 days, there is no option to claim it. You’ll want to select another address.
