Change site name on free plan

    I would like to change the name of the site. I’m on a free plan. Is there a way to do that or do I need to delete the site and start from scratch?
    Ideally I would also like to archive previous articles but still keep them on the site. Thank you for your help!

    Hi there,

    To change the website address (subdomain), go to Dashboard → Domains. Click the three-dot icon on the right side of your current domain name, then select “Change site address.” A pop-up will appear where you can enter your new site address and save the changes.

    Changing your site address will permanently break links to your old address. Your old address cannot be recovered or reused. Consider adding a domain name instead to keep your current address working.

    Personally I would just create another free site with the name of my choice and move the content to it. Remember, deleting a site name is permanent and I have seen many people in these forums who have second thoughts and later wish they had kept the original name.
