change size of 'text' section on front page for fortune theme
-
I’m trying to shrink the size of the ‘text’ section of the page. So it’s not such a big space with such little text.
I hope this makes sense.
thanks!

Hi there – I am a volunteer and perhaps I can help.
Can you post a screenshot of the area you are trying to change? Maybe I can give you the custom code and you can put it into your stylesheet following this article:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/
I use this free software to share screenshots: http://tinygrab.com/download.php

Hi @startswithmenow, are you talking about on your main page where it says, “I found my missing link – and I want to help you – find yours”?
If so, there is top and bottom padding on that block of text. Add this to your custom CSS and then adjust the two values to get the spacing you want. Since that text is a h4, it has some bottom margin on it, so to center the text vertically in the white space, you will end up with different values for the top and bottom.
.front-block:first-of-type { padding-bottom: 120px; padding-top: 120px; } -
thanks for your input, @thesacredpath!
just checking in, @startswithmenow, to see if you were able to achieve your goal with
shrinking the size of the ‘text’ section of the page
?
It looks like perhaps you removed that bit where it says, “I found my missing link – and I want to help you – find yours”? from the page.
Do you still need our help?

Hey thanks for the help! I haven’t had much time to work on this stuff yet. I’ll try these fixes and then get back to you.
I appreciate you checking in with me.
