Change some templated words from English to Hebrew
-
Hi!
I’m using the Gateway template in my blog. In this template, only the first few lines of each entry are shown, and I need to press the ‘more’ button to see more. Is there any way to change the ‘more’ link to Hebrew? Everything else in the blog is in Hebrew except for it, and it looks weird.
I have the same problem in the entries themselves – the words ‘posted on’ and ‘by’ are in English, while the date and the composer name are in Hebrew. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is the “More” tag break a function of the theme? If not, you can change the words in the Read More link to anything you want. Here’s how https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/view-all/#custom-read-more-message
Perhaps there are hard-coded strings in this theme which have not yet been translated to Hebrew. I’ve tagged this for Theme Staff assistance.
Meanwhile, you might want to check out the GlotPress project: https://en.support.wordpress.com/glotpress/

Thanks!
Yes, the “More” tag is a function of the theme. I wasn’t aware that you can simply add a “read more” tag. I will try using a different theme and see if it has what I need.
It does appear that all the strings in question are hard-coded strings.

While Staff have advised that all themes are “translation ready” or support RTL, there do seem to be some that are more so than others.
Try the filters in the Theme Showcase https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/rtl-language-support/
I’ll still leave this tagged for Themes Staff to note that the Gateway theme has some untranslated strings.

Hi there,
The primary way WordPress, and themes get translated is by community members helping out with the translation.
I have looked up the Hebrew translation of Gateway, it is currently 79% translated. However, some strings like the “more” tag are not translated as of yet. When a string is not translated it will default to English.
If you would like to help translate the strings here is a direct link to all untranslated Hebrew strings in Gateway:

Thanks so much! You truly are a Happiness Engineer :)
I added a Hebrew translation of “More” and a few more things there.
