Change styling of the footer bar credits text
-
Hi all. I’d like to make the text in the credits bar that appears as users scroll down a little more subtle with lighter text. How do I adjust this? I have the Custom Design upgrade and want to edit the css. It’s the Scrawl theme.
Many thanks!

Hi,
According to the terms for service for WordPress users you cannot hide the credits at the bottom bar. Take a look at this: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions“All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the Admin Bar (the dark bar that appears at the top of WordPress.com sites when logged in) as well as credit links in the footer, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits or the toolbar. Modifying the style of the footer text (i.e. colors and font size) is fine as long as it’s still readable. Using CSS, you can also add content like a copyright notice to the existing footer. If you would like to do that, you can ask in the CSS Customization forum and Staff or our community volunteers would be happy to help you do that.”
I’ve read the following thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/change-footer-text-2?replies=27
And I believe you can modify the color a little bit using the following css edits:
.site-info a, .site-info .sep {
color: #999999 ! important;
}As @kathrynwp says, you need to keep this readable.
I hope this helps. -

This is the CSS Forum and all CSS editing is theme specific editing.

Hi @nonewbrakes, we can make them lighter in color with the following CSS. I don’t know that I would make them any lighter as they have to remain readable.
#infinite-footer .blog-credits a { color: #bbbbbb; } -
