Change submenu background color and give it borders Willingness Theme
-
Hi,
I am making a website but it’s not “live” yet. The URL is http://buskruitmetmuisjes.nl. The theme is Willingness and I am using the child theme Willingness-child.
I want to give the submenu a white solid background color with a 1px border around it and 1px horizontal dividers between each title. I managed part of that by reading on the forums.
How do you set the width of the submenu to be the same for each title? I have a very long title “Je zwangerschap, van week tot week” and a short title “Blog”. I set the width for the Blog submenu to 160px. But the longer submenu inherites the width of the long title (about 400px). I want it to be also 160px wide. How would you do that?
And how do you add the horizontal 1px dividers between each title of the submenu?
Thanks in advance for you help,
best regards,

You have posted in the WordPress.com forums, however, it sounds like you are using WordPress but your blog is not hosted here at WordPress.com.
This forum is only for WordPress.com blogs, but I can help direct you to the right place to ask for help!
I did read through your question, and it will be really difficult for someone to help you with specifics without being able to see a live example on your site or without access to getting the theme and installing it—and helping with a step like that would be something a volunteer would need to be willing to take extra time to do. Your best chance for getting help would be if you can provide a link to the page you’re working on. If it’s possible for you to setup a staging server or test site that is using the theme you referred to, then I think you would have a better chance of getting volunteer help.
To set the width of the submenu or add 1p dividers, you would need to find the right selector to use to target the submenu. I can’t tell what they would be without seeing a live example, however, I can point you to this short tutorial which may help you learn how to figure it out on your own:
