change the category of an existing post

New user. Stated adding content just to test the procedure. Eventually liked what I see, but the 2 articles I posted went to the default category. Now I want to put them in the right category but the page where I can assign a category to a post applies only to NEW posts. I did some formatting that is different from my source file so I don’t want just to delete the existing posts and start all over. So how do I reassign the category of an existing post?

In the Dashboard, click on “Posts” and you’ll get a page which lists all posts. Find the one which you want to change and move the mouse over the title (this is called “hovering”). Some options will appear, including “Quick Edit”. Click “Quick Edit” and you’ll find a Category selector there. Remember to save your change. (There is a bulk edit tool for changing many posts at once)
