Change the domain address

Hello,
I am a really beginner in the WordPress word and I have got a really basic use.
I created a first blog: voyagedeselkie.com and stop using it. I am using my new one.
I would like to give a new use of my first and old one by changing all the content and changing the address.I found where to change the address, but I have got some question:
– changing my first address domain can affect the other one?
– how to know if I need to buy a redirection site?
– If i need one, do I need to purchase it before to change the address or I can do it after?Thank you in advance

@selkietimes If you only wish to redirect your old blog to new blog, you can easily do it within your your domain manager (check with your domain provider for this).
To answer your questions:
– No it wont affect the other one, as long as you do it correctly :)
– You don’t need to buy anything for thisCheers!

It is more to give a completely new life to the old blog:
The address is voyagesdeselkie.com (it is in private for the moment) and i would like to change it for example for newaddressblogselkie.comSo is it fine to only do this procedure ?

In this case, you would have to purchase a hosting account (normally costs from $2.25-$4 monthly), so you can link it with your new address, otherwise your website will be down and will no longer be accessible.One of my friend tried to do the above process without purchasing hosting, and he lost everything, so its always better to follow the advice.

This is WordPress.com, not WordPress.org. WordPress.com blogs are hosted for free by WordPress.com and there is no necessity to buy hosting elsewhere. -

You cannot use the “Changing Blog Address” instructions in the case of a custom domain. Those instructions only work with regard to your free WordPress.com address.I see you bought your domain from WordPress.com. To change a custom domain you need to buy a new address all over again. I’m going to tag this for staff so they can advise you whether you can still get a refund on your existing domain or not before you register the new one. Please be patient while waiting for their reply.

@kokkieh yes thats why I suggested her to move from wordpress.com to wordpress.org, so she you have full control over everything.
As mentioned above, one of my friend faced same issue, and I get him fixed by moving him to wodpress.org.
Definitely staff will respond to this better :)

Please note that if you want to change your custom domain, you will have to purchase a new domain as stated by @kokkieh. If you want to transfer that domain to your new WordPress.com site I can do that as well since the refund period has passed on your domain.

I think it will be easier for me to create a new free one for the moment.
If I do not renew my first domain ‘voyagesdeselkie.com’ will it affect my other blog ‘elzevircafe.com’ which is linked to it ?
